An important maintenance release is out today. V4.6.1 fixes a major

An outdated dll is embeded in the 4.6.0 release, making the engine unable to
start on many systems (XP & Vista).

It's finally here, the 4.6.0
version fully supporting Vista.
Many improvments, and a new TELNET IPDetection plug-in to grab the IP
from your local router via telnet protocol.

A small bug has been detected (and fixed) in the x86 4.5.0 admin tool.
The admin tool does not always recognize your registration as valid.
Note that it does NOT prevent the engine from running "registered".
Sorry for the troubles.

It's finally here, the new 4.5.0, including a very important bug fix (memory leak).
MFC80.dll dependency error has also been fixed.
IP detection improved, by adding the "detect the same IP x times before considering it valid".
A nice feature has been added, automatic (or manual) offline/online handling for dns account(s).
The licensing fee has been updated, to $25 (standard) and $49 (pro), which still looks fair, compared to a fixed IP monthly fee.
Remember that DirectUpdate registration is a one-time fee, giving you access to all 4.x releases.

page. Indeed, some sites are reporting DirectUpdate as a spyware.
This is absolutely not true.
If you have any ideas on why such sites report my product as spyware,

The 4.0 RC1 is available !
It's the first multi-languages version of DirectUpdate. For now, only
English and French, but more to come.

As it requires much more time/resources than I initially planned, I'll
have to raise the registration fee to $20. But only when the "final"
4.0 is released.

version.

of the brand new v4.0.
The 4.0 project is ambitious, and maybe I'll release different builds:

I will release the 3.6.3 soon (with new services and bugs fixes).
I started the 4.0 development ! This new version will handle many IPs,
and could be easily translated in other languages... (Currently, only
a french patch is officially available in the download
page)
Just to let you know, I'll be out for 2 weeks of vacation, from June 28
to July 14. No computers, no Internet, no emails during this time... real
vacation :))

The new 3.6.2 is out ! Many bugs have been fixed, so upgrading is recommended...
I finally found the bug preventing the icon tray to detect if the engine
is running or not !
I was working on it for more than a year :))
In the previous 3.6.0, the RAS password may be corrupted (generating Invalid
Username/password when trying to dial). It has been fixed, but you'll
have to re-enter your password.

The FAQ has been updated (for SSL).
A minor bug has been reported, about the date format in the sent emails
("Dev" instead of "Dec" for December). It will be
of course fixed in the next release.
I've been working on a great new feature: DU will be able to monitor your
RAS connection, and hang-up/redial it in case of failure !
A script could even be launched (to force a /renew on your DHCP connection
for example).
